Heading south and passed this place. Had to stop and so glad we did. Food, service, and the place is a cracker. Just wish we had something like this back home. I would love to come back and tag along with the deer boss. The venson bologanise was a cracker.

Totally enjoyed our dinner there - venison burger and beer. So much atmosphere and lovely bar and waiting staff. Gave me a taste of beer when couldn’t decide which one to have. Perfect place to sit by the fireplace and watch the locals and tourist mingle. The Legends board is a must to check out!

My family and I stopped here for lunch on the way through to Queenstown. This place is as authentic as you can get to a country pub/restaurant! The food was next level quality. You can't go past without trying one of their venison burgers. All the other food we ordered were delicious and generous sizing. The service was great! The staff even came out and gave some advice on the roads ahead for our road trip, and of course, a little chat about hunting and fishing. The atmosphere was great! Cosy, music, great smells, heaps of cool hunting stuff, just an all round nice place to sit and have lunch or dinner with the family.

We had soup of the day and venison medallions which surprisingly good. The meat was juicy and welled pairing with savory gravy. As veggie lover, i really love how they cooked the baby carrot as well. The soup of the day was yummy too. But really recommend the venison medallions. If i had a chance to revisit, i would do. I can sense that the other dish will be splendid too. Comfort taste. The staff was nice and helpful too!

Arrived here near closing and they were happy to accommodate us for last orders. We ordered lamb shank, fish n chips, ribeye, and pasta. Lamb shank was phenomenal and fish n chips was very nicely seasoned as well. Portion sizes were also huge which might explain the slightly higher price. Overall would definitely recommend to anyone if you're staying over at the motels or holiday park nearby.
